Bike your Way through Europe
One of my favorite ways to explore a new city is by foot. I think it’s the best way to see things you wouldn’t see from a bus window or underground on the subway. But, if you’re anything like me, your body really hates you after walking for hours and hours.
The brilliant solution is to bike your way through a city. An affordable, painless (literally), and unstressful way to see the most of a city and maximize your time there. Go from the London Eye to the Tower of London without having to ‘Mind the Gap’ or at the cost of your precious feet. Feel like one of the locals in Amsterdam and cycle your way around the city.
This infographic from Momondo displays how to go about using the public bike system in London, Paris, Nice, Amsterdam, and Berlin – fully equipped with how to sign up, payment options, docking station locations, pricing information and a couple local tips for each location.
Some cities allow you to register and pay at the docking stations, while some require you to do so online. Some have an age requirement while others do not. This is a fantastic alternative to discover a city and one I think will start becoming more and more available.
