Nashville Food Truck Friday | S’more Love

As I started my blog in September 2013 and only became vegan in May 2016, there are several non-vegan posts pre-vegan era.  As an example of how someone can change their path in life drastically, I have made the decision to leave the posts up even though I am ashamed of them.  I hope you will take this example and think on it.  Also, see my animal activism page or travel page on ideas for ethical animal tourism and vegan food around the world.  My inbox is always open should you have questions about changing your lifestyle to better serve animals, our planet, and your own health.

Yesterday, Kaleb and I ventured out to visit a few food trucks.  It has been a while – mostly due to our crazy schedules.  Working out Kaleb’s moving schedule for work, the trucks’ schedules and my constantly changing schedule gets to be challenging.  But, yesterday, I had set aside the whole day for us to spend together since today is my birthday.  I had grand plans of marathoning Harry Potter all day, visiting a few trucks for lunch and cooking our next country meal, Albania.  Due to some pressing business matters, we only got one of those things done : food trucks!

Since we were already by S’more Love’s location we had dessert first!  Hey, it is my birthday.  I can do that if I want.  S’more Love is a brand new truck that’s been in operation since May of this year.  I was super excited when I heard there was a truck devoted to s’mores.  I mean who couldn’t get all nostalgic about that?  It came at perfect timing too because I had just been thinking recently that I want us to get the firepit out so we could make some s’mores at home.

S’more Love is run by Eric (who was there yesterday) and his wife.  Eric was extremely nice and I’d expect great service from him anytime you go there – he was awesome!  The s’more truck came up out of a conversation between the two of them over coffee about a year and a half ago.  Love those kind of stories!

First of all, isn’t it adorable?!

Next up, we decided to take a look at the menu.  A small but eclectic menu!

NASHVILLE FOOD TRUCK FRIDAY | S'MORE LOVE

Kaleb’s Choice :

The King | graham cracker, homemade marshmallow, chocolate, peanut butter, banana, bacon

This is one of those items that you read all the ingredients and you’re thinking, “this is going to be really amazing or this is going to taste terrible.”  There’s just so many different flavors going on.  Well, let me tell you, it turned out to be amazing.

These homemade marshmallows are delicious!  I’m not the type that eats marshmallows by themselves, but I would these.  The peanut butter and banana were a fun addition with just the right amount of both.  And, I’m super picky about the way my bacon is cooked.  I like it crisp especially for something like this and it was perfect!

My Choice :

The Cookie Monster | homemade marshmallow sandwiched between two homemade chocolate chip cookies.

One word : divine.

Again, I’m picky about homemade cookies, or cookies in general.  I grew up eating my grandma’s homemade chocolate chip cookies that are the best.  These were right up there with those.

Wow – The King does sound (and look!) amazing. We were just in Nashville – should have read this first! Although, we got crazy rain, so maybe just as well. We’re talking about a return trip, so guess where we’ll be going! 🙂
