Street Art in Louisville, Kentucky

Louisville definitely has a street art scene that needs to be explored.  Street art is one of my favorite things to see when visiting a new place and I tend to look a little crazy driving around and hopping out of my car to take a photo real quick.  Some of these I looked up before hand but some I just found on the go!  Either way, I know I didn’t even scratch the surface and can’t wait to go back and explore more murals!

Hilltop Tavern Mural

1800 Frankfort Avenue | side of Hilltop Tavern building

This was one I just happened to drive by and I’m so glad I did because it’s one of the coolest murals I’ve seen!

Lydia-Emily Archibald has traveled the country creating murals with a message – to have hope and fight against multiple sclerosis.

Royals Chicken Mural

736 E Market St | on left hand side of building

While I don’t particularly like what the mural is promoting (chicken), it is a gorgeous piece of art.

A very Louisville specific mural – a definite must see!

Thuggy Pugs Mural

1034 Bardstown Rd | on left side of old Holy Grale Church (behind a locked gate)

This might be my most favorite street art ever!  There is a locked gate but you can still see it and take photos.  I totally made up the name of the mural too.

Spirit of the Highlands Mural

1529 Bardstown Rd | on the side of Ole Town Liquors

A super fun and colorful mural where each letter showcases something unique to the area.

SoBro Mural

Corner of 2nd + Kentucky Avenue

This one is really cool because several community members painted it together!

So, that is all the murals I had time to seek out in just 24 hours (as well as all the other things I did!) and I think I did a pretty good job.  Which was your favorite (it’s the pugs too, amiright?)
